In the medical world, cracked heels are known as heel fissures. Sometimes heel fissures can run so deep in dry, cracked heels that they can be painful. Taking care of your feet should be a priority and the number one reason many people have dry, cracked heels in the first place is that they are just too busy to stop and take care of their feet. Sooner or later, feet that are ignored will have this issue. The good news is, it is easy to treat if you're feet have come this far and you can reclaim healthy-looking, supple feet once again.
It can take months and sometimes even years for heel fissures to fully develop. However once they develop, well you heels can't be healed overnight. The road back to having attractive feet can take a few weeks to reclaim.
First of all, many of your heel fissure cures can actually be found in your kitchen. Soak your feet in warm water and pat dry, then apply vegetable shortening to your problem areas on your feet. Then put on a pair of thick socks and when you wake up, you should see a noticeable difference in the appearance of your feet. Application overnight can surely provide positive results in few days.
A paste made from mashing a banana is also good for moisturizing your heels. Mash the banana, spread on your feet and let sit for 10-15 minutes. Then rinse and pat dry. Moisturizing after washing and drying is also recommended.
Once you get your heels cured from having cracks and fissures, make it a point to wash and moisturize your feet on a very regular basis. It only takes a little time and your reward will be feet that you'll feel great about showing off all year round.
