Generic Lotrel falls under the 'calcium channel blockers' drug group, so it widens (and therefore relaxes) the blood vessels to improve your blood flow and prevent your body from retaining water, which tends to increase your blood pressure. Generic Lotrel can treat hypertension, and is usually administered when all other blood pressure drugs have failed to treat the condition successfully.
Side effects
The side effects associated with Generic Lotrel may not readily manifest - in fact, in some cases, the side effects only begin to show after months of suing the drug. Common symptoms include vomiting, heavy sweating, and diarrhea - all of which may cause you to get dehydrated. Generic Lotrel may also set off low blood pressure, kidney failure, and even electrolyte disorders. That is why you should be sure to take six to eight glasses of water everyday while you are taking Generic Lotrel.
